My participatory installation Identity Tapestry will be showing at BWAC’s Wide Open2 show (juried by Nathan Trotman, associate curator for the Guggenheim), opening March 12th (1-6PM) through March 27th. I will be attending the opening there in Brooklyn.
Interwoven: Icons and Ideas (an international collaborative project with artists Lina Puerta, Simone Stoll, Sophie Menuet, Annysa Ng, and anthropologist Jordan Kraemer will be showing at the Herter Gallery at UMass Amherst March30th-April 19th as part of the Transcultural Exchange Center’s show “Here, There and Everywhere, the Art of Collaboration“. Project blog at http://iconexchange.wordpress.com/
I will be creating a site-specific work for the exhibition “Play” at the Textile Arts Center, Brooklyn in May-June (final dates not yet announced).
Release (left) has just been accepted to the online show for the Harmony for Peace Foundation (NYC). **later note** It will now also be part of the Gallery show in NYC.
Depending on upcoming show schedules I am not certain whether I will participate in the spring Open Studios at the Art Explosion. I will let you know if I do.
I’m afraid that getting the actual art done is taking away any time I might spend on essays in here, but I hope to get a chance to write more essays about art on the way back from NYC.
